Intellectual Persecution & Social Media Mobbing’s of Truth

If you wanted to destroy the truth, would you:

A. Ignore it completely in hopes that it would go away?

B. Fight it as much as possible, but as subtlety as possible?

Let’s go with option two for a minute since that seems like a good choice, but first a little history. Considering that the Western World does not understand the volume of mass murders that occurred in the name of Marxism/Communism, you must assume then that the weapon of choice is going to be limited to whatever tools are available.

The tools most available in the Western World currently, are ideology, legal, and political, which also become the foundation within systems like education, govt., business etc… The best propaganda for such is going to always be the obvious: news/media, social media, etc… I will cover some interesting highlights of American propoganda system in a future post.

So while in former times, during war, or, when violence was more common/acceptable, those persecutions would have been manifest in a physical form as well, whether it be imprisonment,  torture, or death.

in more violent times past, Russia exterted physical violence

This sums up nicely. Now, I may lose all credibility by quoting Wikipedia, but I am a very busy guy and you can read the original sources.

“since Marxist ideology as interpreted by Lenin[21] and by his successors regarded religion as an obstacle to the construction of a communist society, putting an end to all religion (and replacing it with atheism[22]) became a fundamentally important ideological goal of the Soviet state.”

Their numerous attempts at curbing Christianity included education, legal and political, and even the  penetration of churches by Soviet secret services.
Some actions against Orthodox priests and believers along with execution included torture, being sent to prison camps, labour camps or mental hospitals.

Many Orthodox (along with peoples of other faiths) were also subjected to psychological punishment or torture and mind control experimentation in order to force them give up their religious convictions (see Punitive psychiatry in the Soviet Union).[25][26][28] During the first five years of Soviet power, the Bolsheviks executed 28 Russian Orthodox bishops and over 1,200 Russian Orthodox priests.

It’s worth reading through when you start to see how many murders and executions of Christians happened in Russia, but not only that; The Red / Communist Holocaust as a whole, while numbers vary, the most recent estimates state no less than 15 million of Russia’s own citizens murdered, in the name of Marxist ideology, and as many as 60 million, which makes this the bloodiest of all.

“Of all religions, secular and otherwise,” Rummel positions Marxism as “by far the bloodiest – bloodier than the Catholic Inquisition, the various Catholic crusades, and the Thirty Years War between Catholics and Protestants. In practice, Marxism has meant bloody terrorism, deadly purges, lethal prison camps and murderous forced labor, fatal deportations, man-made famines, extrajudicial executions and fraudulent show trials, outright mass murder and genocide.”[26] He writes that in practice the Marxists saw the construction of their utopia as “a war on poverty, exploitation, imperialism and inequality – and, as in a real war, noncombatants would unfortunately get caught in the battle. There would be necessary enemy casualties: the clergy, bourgeoisie, capitalists, ‘wreckers’, intellectuals, counterrevolutionaries, rightists, tyrants, the rich and landlords. As in a war, millions might die, but these deaths would be justified by the end, as in the defeat of Hitler in World War II. To the ruling Marxists, the goal of a communist utopia was enough to justify all the deaths.”

“As of 2011, academic consensus has not been achieved on causes of large scale killings by states, including by states governed by communists. In particular, the number of comparative studies suggesting causes is limited. The highest death tolls that have been documented in communist states occurred in the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin, in the People’s Republic of China under Mao Zedong, and in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge. The estimates of the number of non-combatants killed by these three regimes alone range from a low of 21 million to a high of 70 million.”

Interesting that the idea of communism, which means, government mandated equality could cause so much suffering and murders.

So, in the age of non-violence, we should first off assume that the best weapon against good is false knowledge (propaganda) and political/legal power (the corrupt type). Take for example Russia’s recent move to block Christianity from being shared outside of the home/churches, in the name of “terrorism.” I am not aware of any Christian terrorism is Russia, or what terrorism really means when it is defined as one man saying to another “I believe in God,” but it does remind me of what German govt. did to proselyting religious groups during the 1930’s. The freedom of religion is also the freedom against tyranny. No surprise that America’s earliest very religious inhabitants were also so anti-authoritarian.

According to this Anglican church newspaper (there are many sources out there on this topic mind you),

“The obligation on every believer to have a special permit to spread his or her beliefs, as well as hand out religious literature and material outside of places of worship and used structures, is not only absurd and offensive, but also creates the basis for mass persecution of believers for violating these provisions.

“[It’s] the most draconian anti-religion Bill to be proposed in Russia since Nikita Khrushchev promised to eliminate Christianity in the Soviet Union”

But this is nothing new. Christians will tell you that the early Christian church was persecuted, and its apostles murdered. But why? Perhaps there is some truth in all the religions, and autocratic govt’s are not really fans of truth. So, if the same patterns form here, chances are authoritarianism is here.

So again, where does that bring us today? Let me reiterate a point: if darkness has a tool to fight against truth, it will exert all efforts possible to suppress that truth, but it has to be really sneaky, subversive, and gradual about it. It’ll need to tap into some, but not all of course:

  • top education system
  • the political system
  • the legal system to enforce rules
  • then propagate itself down gradually through the ranks of mainstream. Trickle-down ideonomics.

Most would argue that violence has ended, but I am not sure. If violence isn’t in the cards, as history has shown, then complete control may be the next best alternative.

Also, it’s worth considering that while hindsight is 20/20, what is not easy to say is “that could happen again today, here?” However, we may be the next Germany/Russia (more on an upcoming post).
